i've learned during the past few months that while riding public transportation, you should be ready for sudden stops and lurches. well, apparently, i wasn't overly ready on thursday evening. i was sitting down (that's right, sitting) when the bus took a sudden turn to the left, my body slipped off the seat, and, suddenly, i was on the floor. although i started laughing before i picked myself up, i couldn't help noticing a sharp pain in my leg. so now i have a strange mixture of yellow, purple, and red on my shin. gross.
