JEZEBEL MUSIC DOT COM

Here are three videos from The Resonance Series at Bar Matchless, hosted by jezebelmusic.com. Many thanks to Dan D'Ippolito for inviting me to perform earlier this month. I'll explain a little bit about each video...

The first song is called The Gold Ratio. I wrote the words to it when I was visiting Krakow in late 2007. The original idea was written completely on my computer, then later transferred to guitar and harmonica. This song will appear on the upcoming EP, but in a more rock-oriented format. My favorite part of this video is when you can hear a guy ask his friend if he wants any mac & cheese from from the bar. No complaints from me though - Bar Matchless does have tasty mac & cheese...

The second video is an old song named Model-T Ford that I wrote in early 2004 when I was part of a band called Cast Iron Filter. It was the first track off the last album we made called Falls of Rough. I've reworked several of these older songs lately, some of which I'm enjoying and others not so much. But it's interesting for me to look back and reflect on that period of my songwriting - it seems to be having an influence on my current songwriting too - most of my new ideas have been written solely on acoustic guitar and very lo-fi in comparison to the mainly computer-based writing from the past few years...

This last video is a new song called The Honeymoon. I wrote it this past winter and have been performing it on and off for a few months now. It's a good example of the new lo-fi material I mentioned above - I'll most likely record another EP next year that includes songs such as this. But the real necessity at this point is finishing the current EP and putting a band together - although it's fun playing these songs solo, I can only take them so far by myself. In a few months, I'll have some full band videos for you to watch. I hope you've enjoyed these for now...
