DANCE PARTY

Brooke and I went to the annual Fall for Dance Festival at the New York City Center a couple Fridays ago. There were five short acts, comprised of dance styles ranging from modern contemporary to African to classical pas de deux to experimental movement and tap. I always enjoy learning more about dance through events like this, especially because I have someone nice nearby to explain anything I don't understand. And overall, I thought it was a pleasurable experience. Here's the only picture I took from the evening. It's the ceiling of the atrium next to the theatre.

One thing happened at the end of the performance that bothered me. Before the curtain had fallen on the last set of performers, a couple dozen people in the audience rose to leave and walked out. Perhaps they thought the performance wasn't that great; maybe they had to be somewhere important soon; or maybe they just didn't want to wait in line to leave. Regardless, it just struck me as rude. But that's just, you know, my opinion, man.
